Top List Showing IP vs Hostname

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

Expected Behaviour:

Top Client Lists in Long term data shows IP's vs hostnames

Actual Behaviour:

Top Clients shows IP, however the Dashboard shows hostnames. I have edited the hosts file to map IP's to hostnames. I have my router acting as the DHCP server.

Debug Token:

mtjp9kpwnd

How recently did you edit the hosts file? Does it show for newer queries and not older or just none at all?

I updated the host file about a week ago. I've done several reboots since then. It doesn't show the hostname for any of them.

We only store IP addresses in the database. We don't map hostnames to IP addresses as it is not clear if the device seen 3/4 year ago ending in .5 is the same host that it is now

Here is what I did to get this solved. In the first entry of the topic, search for 'Q: Why so many local requests?'.

It works, without adding any other stuff, mentioned in this topic.

Don't forget to restart dnsmasq (sudo service dnsmasq restart) after you made the changes.
