Pihole still cache when disabled?

I had just implemented the pihole into my network and my wife has done nothing but complain. Apparently every site she goes to or links she clicks on are ad-based and already on the default black lists, rendering her to a bad browsing experience ( i on the other hand have had no issues). So I have disabled the pihole from the GUI for now but does this still allow for DNS caching?

tl;dr does the pihole still cache when disabled?

Yes! All benefits of Pi-hole (statistics, caching, ...) stay intact when you disable Pi-hole. The sole difference is that all queries will be answered immediately without filtering them thorugh the blocking lists.
